Summary: We loved the quiet area of Makiki. It is out of the way of the busy energy of Honolulu, but close enough to get into town easily for whatever you need. It is only 20 minutes from Waikiki and Ala Moana Beach and shopping center. It has amazing views from the road of Waikiki and the ocean. I loved my daily walks up the hill to enjoy the views. It is also very close to some amazing hiking trails. There is a large Monkey tree in the front that was full of Parakeets and various other Hawaiian birds in the morning, which was a wonderful way to begin each day. We will definitely stay again.
